Best Time to Go: Year-round. People are sometimes advised against travelling during the rainy season, from June until early October, but Lalibela is now accessible all year, so this is less of an issue than it used to be. A lovely time of year is September through to early October, when the whole country is a bloom with wild meskel flowers. The most popular time to visit Ethiopia is October through January, when the rains are over but the countryside is still bright green.

Climate: From periodic snowfall on the peaks of Bale, to typical daytime temperatures of more than 50ËšC in the Danakil Desert, Ethiopia offers a wide climatic variation.  The central highlands have a temperate climate averaging around 16ËšC daily, making sense due to its proximity to the equator. The far south and eastern lowlands are dry and hot. The western lowlands are uniquely tropical and mostly humid and hot. The southern Rift Valley, mostly at an altitude of 1,500m, is seasonally moist and temperate to hot.

Wifi: Hit or miss. A reliable internet connection is still rare in Ethiopia. Some city hotels have wifi but only in common areas and it is choppy at best.

Wildlife: Known as a cultural and historical destination, Ethiopia's wildlife includes: hyena, ibex, birdlife, Gelada monkeys and Ethiopian wolves.

John and I had a great trip to Costa Rica. We loved all the adventure activities. And the people were really friendly and the food was good. All of our rides arrived on time and there were no glitches anywhere. Thanks again!  Costa Rica, 2013

First and most important we always felt safe and that safety was always primary concern by your field staff.  We had Charmy and Raymond as our travel team leaders.  They were perfect. Raymond was a safe driver and always extremely courteous to each person on the safari.  Charmy is just plan old charming.  He was able to answer any question directed to him about the wildlife, fauna and customs of the local people.  He has a great sense of humor and was able to keep our group on time, entertained and informed.  We would love to travel with them again.  Please extend our appreciation to them both. Tanzania, 2014
